You have, in words,
The log to the base +5+ which gives you +x equals +4+

You really have to know how to read this to understand it.
Just look at the beginning and the end:
"The log . . . . . . equals +4+"
Log are exponents, so you know that +4+ is the exponent

The base is what the exponent raises, if +5+ is the base,
then you have +5%5E4+ so far

" which gives you +x+ "
Now you have +x+=+5%5E4+ answer
Working it out,
+x+=+625+
