Question 727434: Directions are to Find the slope and the y-intercept of each line whose equation is given, and the problem reads like this
-4x + y = 7

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-4x + y = 7

Solve for y

Add +4x to both sides:

-4x + y = 7
+4x         + 4x
----------------
      y = 7 + 4x

Reverse the terms on the right so you can
compare it to y = mx+b

      y = 4x + 7

Under it write y = mx + b

      y = 4x + 7
      y = mx + b

And you can see that m = 4 abd b = 7

m is the slope and (0,b) is the y-intercept.

Therefore the slope is 4 and the y-intercept is the point (0,7)
