Question 72662: I was able to get this far on the equation and now I don't know what to do to solve. I appreciate any help. Thanks. :)
Set y=0 and solve +y=1%2Fx-3%2F%28x%2B4%29+

This is how far I got.
+0=1%2Fx-3%2F%28x%2B4%29+
+0=x%2B4-3x+
+-4=-2x+

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+-4=-2x+
.
Your work is correct all the way down to the above step. All you need to do is divide
both sides of this equation by -2 to get that 2 = x. Or if you prefer you could have
multiplied both sides of the equation by -1 to get:
.
4+=+2x
.
and then divided both sides by +2 to get
.
+2+=+x
.
and this can be transposed into x+=+2 and this is the correct answer to the problem.
.
Hopefully this explains what was bothering you. You did all the hard steps correctly.
Keep up the good work!
