Question 726050: I can't solve this problem accurately.
negative 3 1/3 x - 1/6 = 1 1/3
What I did was add positive 3 1/3 to both sides of the equation, then after I got that answer, I added 1/6 to both sides. My answer was 4 5/6, but they said that is a wrong answer. I've tried it several different ways.
Thank you for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
negative 3 1/3 x - 1/6 = 1 1/3
--------------
Get rid of mixed numbers
-(10/3)x - 1/6 = 4/3
Multiply by 6 to eliminate fractions
-20x - 1 = 8
-20x = 9
x = -9/20
=================
Avoid mixed numbers and fractions whenever possible.
