X-intercepts are points on the x-axis. All points on the x-axis have a y-coordinate of zero. To find x-intercepts you replace the y in the equation with a zero and then solve for x. (This is true for all equations, not just this one.)

Since f(x) is just a glorified y we get:
0+=+x%5E3%2F%288x-4%29
I'll leave it up to you to solve for x. (Hint: Multiply both sides by 8x-4.)
