You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
i am confused on how to get the answers...
do they have more than one answer each?
If given
|Ax + B| = C where C is positive,
If C is negative there is no solution.
you ALWAYS make two equations
Ax + B = C and Ax + B = -C
Solve both of them for x. They are both
answers.
Example
|2x - 5| = 9
Make these two equations:
2x - 5 = 9 and 2x - 5 = -9
Solve them both, get
x = 7 and x = -2
------------------------
If you have
|Ax + B| = |Cx + D|
Make two equations
Ax + B = Cx + D and Ax + B = -(Cx + D)
and solve them. If you get two answers then they
are both solutions. But if you get a false
numerical equation like 2=3, then you only have
the one solution.
