A cell phone company offers 1000 minutes of airtime for free to new subscribers. How many hours (and additional minutes) is that? Show your work.

Divide 1000 by 60 using integer division. The quotient is the number of hours and the remainder is the extra minutes. To do this on a calculator, divide 1000 by 60. Subtract the whole number portion of the result. Multiply the remaining fractional portion by 60. The whole number portion is the number of hours and the result of the final multiplication is the number of extra minutes.
