"Radicand" is the word for the expression inside of a radical. Please put radicands in parentheses when posting. The way you posted your problem it is impossible to tell if the numerator is or (which are not the same thing!)
The "half-radical" symbol, √, does not really help. It's better to use square root(radicand) or just sqrt(radicand)
Please do not try to use fraction bars like you did. Most of the time it is very hard to read. Instead, put your numerator and denominator in parentheses and separate them with a slash, "/". For example:
f(x) = (sqrt(x)+2)/(x)
