Solve the equation for in terms of everything else. That is, manipulate the equation until you have something that looks like with everything but the in the RHS.

So you want to get the y by itself because slope intercept form is always in the form y=mx+b, with m as the slope and b as the y-intercept. So, to solve 3x-5y= 25 first you subtract 3x from both sides to get the y term by itself. You should have the equation -3x+25=-5y. Then you divide both sides of the equation by -5 to get y= 3/5x(three fifths x)-5. Let me know if you have any more questions. :)
