Question 724585: What is the center and radius of the circle with the given equation?
(x – 1)^2 + (y + 1)^2 = 4
center (–1, 1); radius 4
center (1, –1); radius 4
center (–1, 1); radius 2
center (1, –1); radius 2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x – 1)ē + (y + 1)ē = 4
Compare it to
(x – h)ē + (y - k)ē = rē
x - 1 = x - h
h = 1
y + 1 = y - k
k = -1
So the center = (h,k) = (1,-1)
rē = 4
r = 2
So the radius is 2.
