Question 72427: Dividing Rational Expressions:
I would like help on how to divide rational expressions.
Divide and Simplify.
+%28x%5E2%2B9%29%2F%285%28x%2B2%29%29+ / +%28x%2B3%29%2F%285%28x%5E2-4%29%29+

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+%28x%5E2%2B9%29%2F%285%28x%2B2%29%29+ / +%28x%2B3%29%2F%285%28x%5E2-4%29%29+
There is a rule :
+%28a%2Fb%29%2F%28c%2Fd%29+=+%28ad%29%2F%28bc%29+
Apply this to the problem
+%28%28x%5E2%2B9%29%285%28x%5E2-4%29%29%29%2F%28%28x%2B3%29%285%28x%2B2%29%29%29+
Factor the x%5E2-4 in the numerator

Cancel the 5 in the numerator and denominator
+%28%28x%5E2%2B9%29%28x-2%29%28x%2B2%29%29%2F%28%28x%2B3%29%28x%2B2%29%29+
Cancel the x+2 in the numerator and denominator
+%28%28x%5E2%2B9%29%28x-2%29%29%2F%28x%2B3%29+
Assuming that the +x%5E2%2B9+ is really a + and not a - .... then you are done.
