f(x)= 8x - 7, g (x)= (x + 8)/7

If f and g are inverse to one-another f(g(x))=x
and g(f(x))=x
-----------
g(f(x)) = g[8x-7] = (8x-7+8)/7 = (8x+1)/7
Therefore g and f are not inverse of one-another.
