Total value
1.50 x + 3.00 y = 495.00 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -3.00
Multiply (2) by 1.00
-3.00 x -3.00 y = -600.00
1.50 x + 3.00 y = 495.00
Add the two equations
-1.50 x = -105.00
/ -1.50
x = 70.00
plug value of x in (1)
1.00 x + 1.00 y = 200.00
70.00 + y = 200.00
y = 200.00 -70
y = 130.00
y = 130.00
x= 70.00 number of students
y= 130.00 number of adults
