Solution:
Let 'L' be the length and 'W' be the width of the rectangular canvas to be made.
Given : L = 2 + 2W -----------eq.1
Perimeter = 2L + 2W = 52 or L + W = 26 ---------eq.2
Put eq.1 in eq.2, we get,
2 + 2W + W = 26 or W = 8 inches and L = 2 + 16 = 18 inches
