You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let n = the number of brothers and sisters Jack has
Then Jill has n+1 brothers and n-1 sisters
Jill has twice as many brothers as sisters:
n+1 = 2(n-1)
n+1 = 2n-2
n = 3
So Jack has 3 brothers and 3 sisters
Jill has 4 brothers and 2 sisters
Therefore the total number of children is 7.
