You can put this solution on YOUR website!
With this kind of problem, what they want you to
do is set up 2 equations and solve by some
means- elimination, substitution, etc.
Let +s+ = the cost of a student ticket
Let +a+ = the cost of an adult ticket
---------------------------------
(1) +13s+%2B+7a+=+134+
(2) +10s+%2B+6a=+108+
---------------------
Multiply both sides of (1) by +10+
Multiply both sides of (2) by +13+
Then subtract (1) from (2)
(2) +130s+%2B+78a+=+1404+
(3) +-130s+-+70a+=+-1340+
+8a+=+64+
+a+=+8+
and, since
(2) +10s+%2B+6a=+108+
(2) +5s+%2B+3%2A8+=+54+
(2) +5s+=+54+-+24+
(2) +5s+=+30+
(2) +s+=+6+
The cost of a student ticket is $6
The cost of an adult ticket is $8
check:
(1) +13s+%2B+7a+=+134+
(1) +13%2A6+%2B+7%2A8+=+134+
(1) +78+%2B+56+=+134+
(1) +134+=+134+
OK
