SOLUTION: My question is about finding the value of x on a right angle triangle. I have tried with pythagorean theorem and all, I just I guess freeze up and get confused.

Question 720457: My question is about finding the value of x on a right angle triangle. I have tried with pythagorean theorem and all, I just I guess freeze up and get confused.
The triangle goes as
right angle = 2x
top acute angle of triangle = 51
left acute angle = x

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Good idea but pythagorean theorem is for the length of the sides of the triangle not the angles.
Best way to start out any problem like this would be to draw it out and write down what you know.
right angle: 2x
acute1: 51
acute2: x
Now what should all of the angles equal in a triangle in the end? If you said 180 you are right! Now you will have to add all of the angles together to get this angle so put it up into an equation. The goal in the end is to find x so that we can find everything else. So solve for x, (because X is in kindergarden still even with all the problems it gets into!).
The easiest and quickest way to get x is by getting the rest of the right angle seeing a right angle equals 90.
Divide 2 on both sides.
Now that you have x plug it is and add them all together and see if you get 180.
I hope this was able to help!

The triangle goes as
right angle = 2x
top acute angle of triangle = 51
left acute angle = x
------------------
If the right angle = 2x, then x = 45 degrees.
left acute angle = x = 45 degs
-------
That makes the sum of the angles
90 + 45 + 51 = 186 degrees
That won't work.
