x+2 - x = 8 ... plug in y = x+2

(x-x) + 2 = 8

0x + 2 = 8

0 + 2 = 8

2 = 8

Since that equation is FALSE, there are NO SOLUTIONS to this equation.

So there are NO SOLUTIONS to this system of equations.
