SOLUTION: I am supposed to determine whether f(x)= 2x^4+5x^2-1 is odd, even, or neither. This is what I got and would like to know if I did this right.

Question 718716: I am supposed to determine whether f(x)= 2x^4+5x^2-1 is odd, even, or neither. This is what I got and would like to know if I did this right.
f(x)= 2x^4+5x^2-1
f(-x)= 2(-x)^4+5(-x)^2-1
= -2x^4-5x^2-1
I got that it is neither.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! You made a mistake. You see x used in x^4 and x^2. Using negative x is the same result as using positive x. The function is EVEN.
