According to the problem, one number is x, while another number is 2x and their product is 2048

    x * (2x) = 2048,

    2x^2 = 2048

    x^2 = 2048/2 = 1024

    x = sqrt(1024) = +/- 32.


ANSWER.  The numbers are 32 and 64  OR  -32 and -64.
