Question 714943: So i keep getting questions like: 2x+15x=0 and i don't know how to solve them. I understand that you simplify first but what do you do after that? I know in problems like 2x+4x=25 you would subtract 25 from both sides but what about when it equals 0? Can somebody PLEASE take me through the steps of this prolem

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2X+15X=0
(1)ELIMINATE 2X AND 15X
REPLACE THEM WITH (2+15)X ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;(2+15)X=0
(2+15)X=0
(2)ADD FRACTIONS OR INTEGERS TOGETHER;;;;;;;;;;2+15=17
(17)X=0
(3)REMOVE THE PARENTHESES AROUND THE FACTOR;;;;17X=0
17X=0
17(1)=0
(5)REMOVE PARENTHESES AROUND THE FACTOR(1);;;;;17*1=0
17*1=0
MULTIPLY NUMERATOR INTEGERS;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;17*0=0
RESULT=======17=0;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;17=0
SOLUTION===X=0;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;X=0
