Question 714497: An advertising agency conducted a survey and found that the number of units sold, N, is related to the amount a spent on advertising (in dollars) by the following formula:
N = 4,500 + 300 ln a (a ≥ 1)
How many units are sold after spending $1,000?
Answer by jsmallt9(3758) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! N = 4,500 + 300 ln a
Just replace the "a" with 1000:
N = 4,500 + 300 ln 1000
Then use your calculator to simplify the right side. (ln first, then times 300, then add 4500). The value you get for N will be some decimal number. Since N represents the number of units sold and since fractions of a unit do not make sense, round your value for N to the nearest whole number.
