Question 71226: I need to write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line passing through the point at (-2,3) with slope 6.
I've got up to y=6x+b. Just not sure how to get the b, the y-intercept. Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line passing through the point at (-2,3) with slope 6.
-------------
y = mx+b
If y=3,x=-2 and m=6, then:
3 = 6*3 + b
b= -15
EQUATION:
y = 6x -15
