You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For q#a,

If expression is positive
x^2+4x-40=5
x^+4x-40-5=0
%28x%2B9%29%28x-5%29=0,
x=-9 or x=%2B5

If expression is negative
-x^2-4x+40=5
.
x%5E2%2B4x-35=0 which cannot be factored.
Using solution to quadratic formula,
x=-2-sqrt%2813%29 or x=-2%2Bsqrt%2813%29
