Solve the eqqation

(y/5)-(2/5)=(1/3)-y
First, lets get rid of the fractions by multiplying every term by 15, the LCM
%28y%2F5%29%2815%29-%282%2F5%29%2815%29=%281%2F3%29%2815%29-y%2815%29 simplify
3y-6=5-15y subtract 3y and also 5 from both sides
3y-3y-6-5=5-5-15y-3y collect like terms
-11=-18y divide both sides by -18
y=11%2F18 or
y=0.6111
ck ----------plug y=0.6111 into original equation
%280.6111%2F5%29-0.4=0.3333-0.6111
0.12222-0.4=0.3333-0.6111
-0.27778=-0.27778
