(3/4)*(3 1/4)
First turn the mixed number into an improper fraction:
3 1/4 = 13/4
Then multiply this by 3/4:
(3/4)*(13/4) = 39/16 miles
Turn this into a mixed number and you are done:
2 7/16 miles
