OK The discount rate is 5% and and I have to find out the sale price by subtracting the SUBTOTAL from FROM The discount amount. But I dnt know what the discount amount is.
SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME ANSER IT CLEARLY

I need to find the sale price. And in order to find the sale price I have to subtract the SUBTOTAL by the DISCOUNT AMOUNT. But I need to know what the discount amount is in order to subtract. I think you have to change 5% into a decimal which is 0.05 and subtract it by 60.34 and then get the sale price of $60.29 is it correct or not. If not plz explain.
Plz don't give me oh you got to try it I did .

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If you need to find the sale price of an item, and you are given the percentage of discount and the original price, to find the sale price, you would multiply the percentage of the discount by the original price, then subtract that amount from the original price.
So, if the original price is $60.34 and they are taking 5% off of that price, you would multiply $60.34 by .05:
60.34 x .05 = 3.017
Then, subtract 3.017 from the original price of 60.34:
60.34 - 3.017 = 57.323
Round that answer to the nearest hundredth to get your discounted price:
$57.32
