You can put this solution on YOUR website! Please show me the steps to solve this.
graph the region decribed by the inequality
-4>=2y
-----------
1st: Solve for y, as follows:
y<=-2
2nd: To graph an INequality you must first graph the corresponding EQuality.
In you case that is y=-2
Find two points to determine the line:
If x-0, y=-2 giving you point (0,-2)
If x=3, y=-2 giving you point (3,-2)
Plot those two points and draw a solid line thru them.
That is the boundary of the INequality and it is the graph of the EQuality.
Now to find the graph of the INequality:
pick a point on either side of the line, like (0,0)
Substitute those x and y values into the INequality to see if
the side that point is on is the solution side for the INequality.
If y<-2, substituting (0,0) you get 0<-2
This is false.
So the solution set is not on the (0,0) side; it is on the other side.
By the way, those sides are called half-planes.
Darken or shade or hatch the side that is the solution side.
Conclusion: The line and the correct half-plane together are the
solution set for your original problem.

Hope this helps.
