You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A motorist takes 3 hours and 12 minutes to cover the distance between two town when travelling at a constant speed of 90 km/h. What is the distance between the towns?
1 hour = 60 minutes.
So in 60 minutes he travels 90 km
90/60 = 3/2 = 1 1/2 km
So in 1 minute he travels 1 1/2 km
In 3 hours he travels:
90 * 3 = 270 km
In 12 minutes he travels:
12 * 3/2 = 36/2 = 18 km
In 12 minutes he travels 18 km
Therefore:
270 + 18 = 288 km
The answer:
288 km
