Question 706092: A community bird-watching society makes and sells simple bird feeders to raise money for its conservation activities. They sell 22 per week at a price of $10 each. They are considering raising the price, and they find that for every dollar increase, they lose two sales per week.
(a) Find a linear equation that models the number y of feeders that they sell each week at price x, and sketch a graph of the equation

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x is for price of a bird feeder.
y is for how many feeders are sold in a week based on the price, x.

Two points already understood: (10,22) and (11,20). That second point is based on the known +1 dollar price causing 2 fewer feeders sold per week.
Slope if a line, is -2/1= -2.
Using y=mx+b form, solving for b, and then using either point gives b=42.

Equation is y=-2x%2B42.
