X=$10 DOLLARS PER HOUR IS THE NORMAL HOURLY RATE.

From the problem description, you can write:
40W + 8(1.5W) = $520 Simplify and solve for W.
40W + 12W = $520
52W = $520 Divide both sides by 52.
