The GCF is 3y
If you don't understand it that way, FOIL the parentheses and take out the GCF:
6y%5E2%28y%2B7%29-3y%28y%2B7%29
6y%5E3%2B42y%5E2-3y%5E2-21y
6y%5E3%2B39y%5E2-21y
3y%282y%5E2%29%2B3y%2813y%29%2B3y%28-7%29
3y%282y%5E2%2B13y-7%29
