Question 705357:
Find 5 consecutive odd integers such that 3 times the first is 85 more than the sum of the 3rd and 5th
Answer by checkley79(3341) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! LET X, X+2, X+4, X+6, X+8 BE THE 5 INTEGERS.
3X=85+(X+4)+(X+8)
3X=85+2X+12
3X-2X=97
X=97 ANS. FOR THE FIRST INTEGER.
97+2=99 ANS. FORE THE SECOND INTEGER.
97+4=101 ANS. FOR THE THIRD INTEGER.
97+6=103 ANS. FOR THE FOURTH INTEGER.
97+8=105 ANS FOR THE FIFTH INTEGER.
PROOF:
3*97=85+101+105
291=291
