Question 70460: Can someone please help me with this !!! In which quadrant(s) are there no solutions for each line?
Driving down a mountain, Tom finds that he has descended 1800 ft
in elevation by the time he is 3.25 mi horizontally away from the top of the
mountain. Find the slope of his descent to the nearest hundredth.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! USING THE GRAPHING TECHNIQUE WE SET THE STARTING POINT =(0,1800) AND THE END POINT = (3.25*5,280,0) OR (17,160,0).
NOW WE FIND THE SLOPE BETWEEN THESE TWO POINTS USING THE FORMULA (Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)THUS WE HAVE:
(0-1800)/(17,160-0)
-1800/17160=-.10 FOR THE SLOPE OF THIS DESCENT.
