You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 36 people charter the aircraft rather than 40 people, then the total cost per person, is greater by $12.
:
(a) what is the fixed total cost to charter the aircraft?
let c = total cost of the aircraft
Actual cost person - cost with 4 more people = $12
c%2F36 - c%2F40 = 12
multiply by 360, to clear the denominators, results:
10c - 9c = 360(12)
x = $4320, total cost of the aircraft
:
(b) what is the cost per person if 40 people charter the aircraft?
4320%2F40 = $108 per person
:
:
Check by finding the cost when there are 36
4320%2F36 = $120, which is $12 more
