Carmen drove 792 miles in 11 hours.
At the same rate, how many miles would she drive in 13 hours?
Easiest way to solve this is by setting up a proportion.
792%2F11+=+x%2F13
Cross multiply to obtain
11x+=+13+%2A+792 or
11x+=+10296
divide both sides by 11
x+=+936
936 miles

Hello,
Set this up as a proportion:
729/11=x/13
Cross multiply:
11x=9477
Divide by 11:
x=861.5 miles (rounded)
Make sense?
