Question 70347: Hello,

Help! I need to find the surface area of a cone with a radius of 3in and a slant height of 5in.

Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website! For Cone

Lateral Surface Area = ( π * R) * [sqrt(R² + H²)]
Base Surface Area = π * R^2
Total Surface Area = Lateral SA + Base SA
here,

r=3 in, and slant height =5in which is same as [sqrt (r^2 + h^2) ]
Lateral surface area = π * 3)* 5 =(3.14 *3*5) sq in = 47.1 sq in
Base Surface Area = π *r^2
                  = 3.14 * 3*3
                  = 28.26 sq in

Total surface area= Lateral SA + Base SA
                  = 47.1 + 28.26
                  = 75.36 sq in
