You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Ramon and Ashaki are making the same trip in separate cars.
Ramon has traveled 126 miles. He is traveling at a constant rate of 50 miles per hour.
Ashaki has traveled 62 miles. She is traveling at a constant rate of 58 miles per hour.
How long until they are at the same point?
:
From the information given we know that A has to travel 126-62 = 64 more mi than R
:
S's dist = R's dist + 64 mi
58t = 50t + 64
58t - 50t = 64
8t = 64
t = 64/8
t = 8 hrs they will be at the same point
:
:
Confirm this by finding the actual distance each is from their starting point
8(50) + 126 = 526 mi
8(58) + 62 = 526 mi, they're at the same point from where they started.
