You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The line 3x + y = 15 intersects the axes at A and B.
Find:
(i) the coordinates of A and of B
To find the x-intercept, let y=0.
Then 3x=15
x=5
Intercept at (5,0)
-----
To find the y-intercept, let x=0.
Then y=15
Intercept at (0,15)
(ii) the distance AB
distance = sqrt((15-0)^2+(0-5)^2) = sqrt(225+25)=sqrt250= 5sqrt10
