You can put this solution on YOUR website!

First, what do we know about each graph?

Equation 1: y=4x+3 (will be the RED line)

The slope is 4, and the y-intercept is 3 or the point (0,3)

Equation 2: y=-x-3 (will be the GREEN line)

The slope is -1, and the y-intercept is -2 or the point (0,-2)

This will go a LONG way in helping us graph these equations.

graph%28+600%2C+600%2C+-7%2C+7%2C+-7%2C+7%2C+4x%2B3%2C+-x-2+%29

By inspection, it looks like our two lines intersect at the point (-1,-1).

Thus, your answer would be the point (-1,-1).

Of course, graphing will not always give you an exact answer.

It is only an approximation.

Solving the system by substitution or elimination will give you the exact answer.

But if you plug (-1,-1) into your two equations, you will indeed see that it does work. This time!

I hope this helps! Keep practicing! :)
