Question 701737: How do I solve for the supplementary and complimentary angles when given: the angle measurement of 24 degrees and 43' and 50". The answer requires three numbers, I know your supposed to subtract 24 from 90 to find the compliment and 180 for the supplement, but why are the other numbers needed and how do I solve this problem? The answer requires three numbers, I know your supposed to subtract 24 from 90 to find the compliment and 180 for the supplement,

We know that 1 degree is 60 min and 1 min is 60 sec
therefore from a complement, subtract 1 degree from 90 and add 60 min
subtract 1 min from that, and add 60 sec, so we have:
