You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The denominator of a fraction is 1 less than twice the numerator. If 7 is added to both the numerator and denominator the resulting fraction has s value of 7/10. Find the original fraction.
-------------
Let the numerator of the original fraction be "x"
Then the denominator of the original fraction is "2x-1"
----------
EQUATION:
Add 7 to both numerator and denominator.
Then [x+7]/[2x-1+7] = 7/10
7(2x+6) = 10(x+7)
14x+42 = 10x+70
4x=28
x=7 (original numerator)
2x-1= 13 (original denominator)
----------
