The formula for the area of a parallelogram is simply:

A=b%2Ah

where b is the base and h is the actual height (not slant height).

This is the exact same formula used for the area of a rectangle.

Knowing this, let's use the information we are given:

A=b%2Ah

64=8%2Ah

8=h

So the height of our parallelogram MUST be 8 inches.

This also means that our parallelogram is also classified as a rhombus,

since all 4 sides must be congruent.
