let there be x tickets at £2 and y tickets at £4
given total tickets = x+y= 10 -----------(1)
total cost = cost of £2 tickets + cost of £4 tickets= 2x+4y =36----(2)
so we have
x+y= 10 -----------(1)
2x+4y =36----(2)
(2)- 2*(1) gives 2y=16 , y=8
from (1) gives x=2
he buys two £2 tickets and 8 £4 tickets
