Question 700124: I need to classify this polynomial by degree and by number of terms. I'm able to figure out the number of terms but I can't figure out the degree. Here is the problem:
X^4+x^3+x
It would also be helpful if you could tell me how to find the degree because my textbook is really confusing. Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The degree is that largest exponent of x (or whatever letter the variable is)
The largest exponent of x in x^4+x^3+x is 4, so 4 is the degree of the polynomial.
