You have the slope of a line and a point that the line passes through.
What you use in this case is the point-slope formula.
m+=+%28y+-+y%5B1%5D%29+%2F+%28x+-+x%5B1%5D%29
You are given the slope, m
and the point, x%5B1%5D,y%5B1%5D
m = 3
x%5B1%5D,y%5B1%5D = (-3,-5)
putting these values into the formula
3+=+%28y+-+%28-5%29%29+%2F+%28x+-+%28-3%29%29
3+=+%28y+%2B+5%29+%2F+%28x+%2B+3%29
3%28x+%2B+3%29+=+y+%2B+5
3x+%2B+9+=+y+%2B+5
y+=+3x+%2B+4 answer
check answer
does it go through (-3,-5) ?
-5+=+3%28-3%29+%2B+4
-5+=+-9+%2B+4
-5+=+-5
OK
Is the slope 3 ?
