Question 699481: Find the area of a rectangle with a length of 6.25 feet and a width of 9.75 feet.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The area of a rectangle is given by this simple formula:

A=l%2Aw

where l is the length of the rectangle,

and w is the width of the rectangle.

Thus, we have:

A=6.25%2A9.75

A=60.9375

So the area of our rectangle is 60.9 ft%5E2

This is because we round the answer to the lowest number of significant digits

in either of our original two numbers.

There are 3 significant digits in both numbers,

so we round our final answer to 3 significant digits as well.

Also, in most cases, the length of a rectangle will be longer than its width,

but that is just a practical concern, it does not affect the area, nor the perimeter.

I hope this helps! Keep practicing! :)
