You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Alan,
this problem only tells me to solve each equation?
1/a-7=3
When I look this problem up in my math book the answer is:
a=22/3
I don't know how to solve for this equation?
----------------------
this problem only tells me to solve each equation?
1/a-7=3
---------
It should say, "Solve for a." Not just solve.
----------
1/a-7=3
-----------
Add 7
1/a = 10
Invert
a = 1/10
======================
If the problem is
1/(a-7) = 3
Invert
a-7 = 1/3
Add 7
a = 7 + 1/3
a = 22/3

It's your responsibility to state the problem unambiguously.
Parentheses are free, use them.
