I know take a number lets say 50mph divided into 300miles = 6 So is the answer 60 mph correct? how would I figure out the answer to the question by only looking at 300mi in 5hrs?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are three equations all related, you should memorize all three of them
Find distance
dist = speed * time
written as
d = s * t
or sometimes
d = r * t (for rate)
:
Find Speed
s = d%2Ft%7D%7D%0D%0A%3A%0D%0AFind+time%0D%0At+=+%7B%7B%7Bd%2Fs
:
With these three you should be able to calculate any unknown related to dist, speed and time
