How do I solve this? Answer by 303795(602) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! This problem can be solved by the use of algebra but I prefer to just think logically about the problem.
Lawanda is travelling 15 mile per hour faster than Betty so in three hours she covers an extra 45 miles (3 * 15). Betty will spend the fourth hour travelling those 45 miles so Betty is travelling at 45 miles per hour.
Lawanda is travelling 15 mile per hour faster so she must be travelling at 60 miles per hour (45 + 15).
